Oh dear it was time for digital ….
I decided to use a mono print to create a monochromatic digital repeat (sounds good when written down)
I scanned one of my beetle mono prints into photoshop, cropped the image used the image to create a pattern.
Using pattern/fill on photoshop I was able to create a digital repeat print. HURRAH Now what to do with the print ? Following discussions with Neil in the print room I decided to use sublimation printing, the print was printed using sublimation ink/paper
First print from paper onto viscose fabric , I was really pleased as sublimation prints can be used until the ink in the paper has been completely exhausted , I experimented adding backgrounds using heat transfer inks to create texture. I also cut up the print and collaged the paper onto prints.
Learning to take forward
Sublimation printing .. really like the effects will experiment further it is also a really good way to instantly see the design on fabric.
Photoshop skills are developing, must continue to try…
