I decided to try 2 completely different colour ways , both colours ways inspired by the natural world.
1 bright using colours of the season, autumnal colours. The 2nd monochrome inspired by a black and white picture (unsure of artist **must remember to make a note of all inspirational pictures I collect)
Inspiration
Monochrome ( print is still wet) I have used habotai silk for this print
Print now dry, translucency of silk can still be seen.
Print can be seen sides of fabric.
Autumnal/bright print
I feel both worked well and show the design well each for different reasons, the prints could be used to show different moods.
I have not worked with shades of black before but have found this very interesting. As the monochrome print was printed on silk habotai the print is reversible.
I feel this has been a very successful project as I feel both print show experiments with colour and ability to create clean colours inspired by the natural environment.
Areas to take forward -
Develop my use of single shades and to use tonal changes
Experiment with monochrome.
